"La foi peut déplacer des montagnes"
So I finally went to the cinema, and I must say I was extremely pleased with the movie. The movie was so spectacular and mind blowing that I just had to blog about it. Jesse Eisenberg (J. Daniel), Mark Ruffalo (Dylan), Woody Harrelson (Merritt), Isla Fisher (Henley), Dave Franco (Jack) and Morgan Freeman (Thaddeus) were among the cast and as I concurred the main actors of the movie ‘Now you see me’ directed by Louis Leterrier.
For most of the people who have watched ‘now you see me’ the movie may seem to be merely about magicians robbing a bank playing Robin Hood, a fun and interesting movie. However what I believe is that the movie is all about faith hence the heading for my post “la foi peut deplacer des montagnes” French for “faith can move mountains”. The movie is much bigger than just robbing banks and stealing from the rich to give to the poor, it’s about blindly believing in something or someone. The ‘four horsemen’ as the magicians call themselves display great amounts of faith when they set their differences aside and work hand in hand to execute the tasks assigned to them by ‘The eye’, The eye being a secret society for magicians. Thus the four magicians acted out the tasks provided to them by a society that they themselves had no proof existed hence relying only on their faith in the existence of the society.
Secondly, I suppose the movie is also a way of saying that we need to look past the ‘now’ and consider the ‘later’, thinking ahead and planning ahead. To live, not just for now but for the future. Even though YOLO has been a hit, doesn’t mean you will die anytime soon so instead of living for today! Tonight! Now! We have to consider tomorrow! The next day! And well ahead into the future...
The movie can be interpreted in several ways, it can be ‘just another movie’ simply to entertain us or it could be a life lesson. If you haven’t watched it yet I recommend you do and I am confident you will not regret it...
